Like all the rest of the rainbow potatoes, collecting the purple potato requires quite a bit of exploring and putting together multiple different little pieces of the puzzle. In this case, it requires finding mini purple books. These books are little notes about experiments that were held in the Valley, and each one has a clue on keywords you'll need to memorize to get the potato. There are ten of them in total, and if you'd like to track them all down for yourself, here's where you can find them all:

  • Ursula's Cave in Dazzle Beach
  • Near the dock in Dazzle Beach
  • On the stairs leading to Peaceful Meadow from Dazzle Beach
  • Scrooge McDuck's Shop in Peaceful Meadow (second floor)
  • The hill connecting the Glade of Trust to Peaceful Meadow
  • Near the waterfall running down to Glade of Trust from Sunlit Plateau
  • Near the stairs connecting Peaceful Meadow to the Plaza
  • Near the Wishing Well in the Plaza
  • Near the Shimmering Pool in the Vitalys Mines (where we got the blue potato)
  • In the secret cave in Frosted Heights

If you followed the list in the order above, you should end up right in the secret cave of Frosted Heights, where we found our friend Olaf. This is exactly where you'll need to be to continue collecting the purple potato. Inside the cave, you can walk up to the portal and speak to it. It will ask you to say the correct keywords in order. This is where the keywords from each experiment note come in handy. If you don't remember them all, don't worry! Here's the order you'll need to tell him each one:

  • 1. Potato
  • 2. Book
  • 3. Dreams
  • 4. Higgitus Figgitus
  • 5. Fugu
  • 6. Crystal
  • 7. Foraging
  • 8. The Forgetting
  • 9. Raspberry
  • 10. Magic

Once you repeat all these phrases back to the portal, it will drop the purple potato on the ground right below it. You can now collect it. If you want to go a step further, take the purple potato to the nearest Crafting Table, and you can turn it into the Purple Potion by combing it with an empty vial. Now you have another piece of the rainbow!
