The Lion King update is finally here in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and after entering the new realm and bringing Nala back to the Valley, you may be wondering how to unlock Simba. The King of "no worries" will require more convincing as he has unfinished business in the jungle. Here's how to welcome and unlock Simba in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to complete Stars to Guide Us Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To start the quest to bring Simba back, Stars to Guide Us, you'll first need to complete the Eyes in the Dark quest and unlock Nala in your Valley. Once she has returned, you can begin the quest Stars to Guide Us, which will also allow you to welcome Simba home to the Dreamlight Valley.
You'll need to travel back to the Lion King Realm and speak to Simba there. He will ask for your help in returning the stars to the sky since some magical force is keeping them hidden. To do this, report back to Merlin in the Valley and ask for his assistance. He'll tell you to craft an item from Simba's past that will help you lift the curse: Rafiki's Walking Stick.
How to craft Rafiki's Walking Stick in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To craft Rafiki's Walking Stick in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll need a few materials:
- Softwood x5
- Fiber x5
- Purified Night Shards x2
Softwood is the easiest of them. You can collect this from around the grounds of Peaceful Meadow and the Plaza. The others will require you to craft them at a Crafting Station after gathering some seaweed and Night Shards. Once you have everything you need, you can craft the stick at the station as well. Then return to Simba with it.

You'll need to place the stick on the little stone mound directly in front of Simba, facing the field. You should see it poking out from the ground and press your interactive button: A on Xbox and Switch, X on PlayStation, or E on PC to open the placement menu and select the stick. The stars will reappear in the sky.
Once this is done, Simba will ask you to help him restore the dried oasis. Follow back to the area, speak to him again, and he'll ask you to gather different plants from around the jungle using your shovel.
Where to gather Jungle Fern Seeds, Waterfall Plant Seeds, and Clearing Tree Seeds in Disney Dreamlight Valley
There are three different types of plants you will need:
- Jungle Fern Seeds x3
- Waterfall Plant Seed x3
- Clearing Tree Seed x3
The Jungle Fern is a bigger, green plant that almost looks like a mini palm tree. The Waterfall plant looks like sticks of bamboo poking up, and the Clearing tree is a small purple plant. You can find them all in the jungle areas, near the waterfall, and further over the log bridge in the other clearing. They will be highlighted with sparkles when you approach them, and all you have to do is use your shovel to dig them up and gather the dropped seeds.
Once you have all the seeds, report back to Simba. Then you'll need to plant them. You can dig the holes anywhere you like in the oasis. Use your shovel to make nine holes, then pop all the seeds you collected into them. You won't need to worry about watering them. Instead, you will need to help Simba clear the water source.
How to break the water source free in the Dried Oasis in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Simba can't free the water because a large rock is blocking it. He needs you to use your pickaxe to break the rock and allow the water to restore the oasis. The rock is tucked away toward the side and easy to miss, but if you follow the little stone path out from the middle water hole, it will lead you right to it. Plus, Simba is standing almost directly in front of it. Use your pickaxe to break the rock, and the water will automatically rush through.
Now that the oasis is restored, Simba trusts you enough to return to the Valley and be with Nala. Since you already placed Pride Rock in the previous quest, you won't need to worry about housing him. Just return to the Valley, and it will immediately allow you to welcome Simba!
