More hacked items are making their way into Disney Dreamlight Valley and this is why you should avoid them

Do not pick up things you don't recognize.

It happens in so many games, but you never expect it in more wholesome titles like Disney Dreamlight Valley. Hacked items are making their way into gift houses and markets, meaning that players are - often unknowingly - picking up items that shouldn't exist.

There is already a blacklist group for Disney Dreamlight Valley, where players can report some of the sketchy goings-on behind the scenes of this cozy game. At the end of May, the community already had several reports of modded/hacked blue Premium Chests being gifted to others.

This particular issue hasn't become a huge problem. Gameloft is aware of it and answered a query from another player, who had been gifted one of the hacked chests when someone visited their Valley.

GameLoft's response assured the player that they hadn't done anything wrong and could continue to enjoy the game without fear of their game being wiped or being banned from playing. The topic also reached players on Reddit.

Unfortunately, there has been some fearmongering, but no one seems to be able to prove that games are getting corrupted by the blue chests.

These hacked blue chests should not be confused with the regular blue Moonstone chests that players can find every day in their Valley. Those are completely safe and a great way to earn Moonstones to spend on the extra page of items for Premium Shop that sometimes pops up.

The newest trio of hacked items are Nesteling tree seeds, Dreamango seeds, and Octoberry seeds. These do not exist in Disney Dreamlight Valley at all. The trees are only available in the A Rift in Time DLC, and never appear in a seed form. Much like lemon and apple trees in the base Disney Dreamlight Valley game, you cannot get more of these trees in-game. There is a set number of them, and no more.

The huge difference between the hacked blue Premium Chests and the Nesteling tree, Dreamango, and Octoberry seeds is that the seeds will actually mess with your game. Players who have picked up the seeds have been unable to use them or get rid of them. They can only be placed in your inventory or chest storage, and will just take up spots.

The seeds have been traced back to a single source, thanks to players who have been affected by the hacked items. This is the Dreamlight Valley Treasures & Trinkets group, which has a reputation for being underhanded and modding items. You can read more about this issue in the Happy Little Helpers group, which created a post to help other players dispose of the items - they apparently have a way to do so, but have not shared how.

Players: You can only buy seeds from Goofy or make them using a crafting desk for special ones, there's no other way.
