Every monster is born with a certain genome, and in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, we call that genome manifested itself into two things: Talents and Traits. It especially helps to know what Talents to focus on so you know where to pour your points into, especially if they’re not monsters you’ll be actively using to fight.
If you’re thinking of breeding an offspring with a certain “Talent,” then either Monster A or Monster B must have it—whether it’s from their species or an inherit from their parents.
Must have Talents in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince
In this guide, I will outline what the best talents are in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince as well as what important stat boosts and skills are attached to them. This is all from my own experience so far. I'll update it as I discover more good stuff!

Afficionado Talents | Attacks of the indicated element | A strong magic attack for that element However, when you unlock all nodes, it evolves into Virtuoso when the monster is used as a parent (i.e. Crag Afficionado -> Crag Virtuoso).
