How to change seasons faster in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince

Seasons come, and seasons go.

During your playthrough in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, you'll naturally cycle through four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. You'll also have the option to change season faster through certain in-game actions, which we'll tackle in this guide.

How to instantly change seasons in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince

One of the most welcomed mechanics in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is the option to instantly change seasons. There are two ways to do it. The first is by using an item called Seasoning. The earliest point where you can get Seasoning is by breaking pots within the Circle of Caprice area.

To use the item, simply open your inventory and scroll through your items until you find Seasoning. Select Seasoning and answer yes when the game asks you "Use a pouch of seasoning?" You should get a dialogue about changes in the breeze and air.

Using a Seasoning will entirely skip your current season and move to the next one in the Seasons Wheel. Keep in mind that Seasoning will not work in areas where seasons do not change, such as villages.

The second method can only be obtained after you've finished the main story and have gotten far enough into the new area. We're not going to go into too much detail about it to avoid spoilers, but once you've arrived at a location with a giant tree, open the only treasure chest around. It should contain an item called the Four Seasons Flute.

Why do you need to change seasons in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince?

Changing seasons in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is essential if you want to farm all local monsters in the game. Some monsters only appear during particular seasons as new areas open within the locale.

If your goal is to visit a certain area or capture specific monsters, your best bet is to use Seasoning to change the in-game season. I recommend you get your goals sorted first before changing seasons so you can efficiently farm everything you need without using up too much Seasoning.
