When putting together your team in Dragon Village Rumble, you need to select six dragons that complement each other and form the strongest formation among your roster.

  • Hit the right balance of attackers, defenders, and healers. If you're unsure what's best for your team, two of each never fails.
  • Make sure you're using the appropriate elements, because certain stages and bosses are weak to one while resisting to another, so don't always just pick the dragons with the highest power.

The dragons come in three rarities: rare, epic, and legendary. The higher rarity ones are usually stronger in terms of stats and the pure power score, but some lower rarity ones still stand out due to their skills. While you're going to want to invest in the legendary ones the most, don't overlook the lower rarity ones, especially when you're building a team around a specific element.

S Tier - The Best Units

The best dragons in the game for any of the game modes. You'll even want to keep them in your team even when they're at an elemental disadvantage.

DragonDetails
Mastema
Mastema
Chaos - Defender
+ Its Azure Flame skill does some great damage and protects your whole team with a Barrier.

+ You get Mastema for free from the pre-registration event, and as a Chaos unit, it will always be helpful across all modes.

Cuteness Rating: 8/10 - Gives off protagonist energy.
Talissah in Dragon Village Rumble
Talissah
Fire - Attacker
+ Flame Arrow does some serious damage in four instances that can spread to multiple targets if needed.

+ Each hit from the skill has a chance to inflict enemies with Attack Down.

Cuteness Rating: 10/10 - Talissah is a cute and classic dragon design with my personal favorite color combination.
Darkvein in Dragon Village Rumble
Darkvein
Chaos - Attacker
+ Darkvein's Light of Ruin is an amazing ability that does continuous damage and can inflict Curse on enemies.

+ Curse is probably the best debuff in the game, decreasing the enemy's attack, attack speed, and crit rate at once.

Cuteness Rating: 6/10 - Very edgy design that looks like someone called Naruto is trying to take him back to their village.
Instria
Instria
Chaos - Attacker
+ Instria rapidly shoots multiple beams of light with its Laser Etching skill, dealing serious damage to a single target, or spreading out to multiple ones.

+ Can grant allies Defense Penetration Up, one of the better damage boosts in the game.

Cuteness Rating: 7/10 - Objectively cute design, but trying too hard to be cute for my taste.
Abyssedge in Dragon Village Rumble
Abyssedge
Water - Defender
+ Abyssedge is an amazing defender with a high HP pool, that can protect your team with its Protect buff.

+ Deadly Thorns does some great damage for a defender.

Cuteness Rating: 5/10 - A mixed bag for me, but the derpy factor saves it a bit.
Chesto
Chesto
Water - Healer
+ Heals two allies with Ocean's Touch, prioritizing the ones that need it the most, and damages all enemies in a straight line.

+ Chesto has the highest HP pool of any healer.

Cuteness Rating: 3/10 - It's a cute whale, but not what I expect a dragon to look like.
Penelion
Penelion
Tree - Attacker
+ Ethereal Flash does some insane damage and can melt through bosses.

+ Penelion can grant Attack Up to two other allies with each skill activation.

Cuteness Rating: 4/10 - While it looks cool, I'm rating dragons, not pegasuses (or is it pegasi?).

A Tier - Strong Choices

Very strong dragons that still do amazing damage or have great utility for the team. Even though they might not be as flexible as the S-tier ones, they still represent a sturdy core for your team.

DragonDetails
Maloden in Dragon Village Rumble
Maloden
Chaos - Attacker
+ High single-target damage with its Erasure skill, with a chance to grant Debuff Immunity to three allies.

+ Maloden's passive effect gives it a major attack boost as you star it up.

Cuteness Rating: 7/10 - Very cute color scheme and design, if a little too reminiscent of a cat.
Zephyrous in Dragon Village Rumble
Zephyrous
Tree - Attacker
+ Summons a magic circle with Zephyr Rhapsody that deals continuous damage to enemies for its duration.

+ Zephyrous has a chance to inflict Defense Down, which can stack and buff your whole team's damage.

Cuteness Rating: 9/10 - Love the color combination and its smug grin is adorable.
Jetto
Jetto
Water - Attacker
+ Summons a magic circle with Zephyr Rhapsody that deals continuous damage to enemies for its duration.

+ Jetto has a chance to inflict Defense Down, which can stack and buff your whole team's damage.

Cuteness Rating: 8/10 - It looks like it's having the time of its lif,e and that energy is infectious.
Glutox in Dragon Village Rumble
Glutox
Tree - Defender
+ Its Blazing Greed skill pierces through enemies, hitting everything in its path without sacrificing its damage.

+ Glutox can grant Protect to most of your team when using its skill.

Cuteness Rating: 8/10 - Why, yes, I do like a chonky dragon, especially when it has a weird, mysterious eye in its mouth.
Agares
Agares
Fire - Healer
+ Revival Flame is an amazing skill that heals your whole team and damages the enemies at the same time.

Cuteness Rating: 9.5/10 - The design itself is pretty basic, but the derp factor is through the roof and makes me want to adopt Agares.
Mata in Dragon Village Rumble
Mata
Tree - Attacker
+ Fires multiple attacks with Forest Stinger that deal great damage and pierce enemies, while also granting Speed Up to allies.

+ Mata has a pretty high base attack speed, making it a great target for buffs.

Cuteness Rating: 8/10 - Very majestic design for a very good long boy.

Hypnos
Water - Attacker
+ Hypnos deals huge damage in a large area of effect with Mana Bomb, which can also clear debuffs from up to four allies.

+ You get it for free when you reach level 60 on the Star Road.

Cuteness Rating: 8/10 - Very majestic design with a pretty cool and cute color scheme.
Pierro in Dragon Village Rumble
Pierro
Fire - Attacker
+ Pierro fires multiple projectiles with Card Barrage, with each of them having a chance to inflict Defense Down on enemies.

+ You unlock it for free when you reach level 150 on the Star Road.

Cuteness Rating: 2/10 - While I do like the aesthetic, it looks more like an imp to me.
Karura
Karura
Chaos - Attacker
+ Karura launches multiple slashes at an enemy with its Radiant Blade Dance skill, dealing great damage.

+ It can apply Crit Rate Up to the rest of your team, giving them a massive damage boost.

Cuteness Rating: 7.5/10 - Love its snout and how cool it's trying to look and pose.
Verus in Dragon Village Rumble
Verus
Fire - Attacker
+ Burning Feather does some decent damage and applies Thorns to three allies.

+ Thorns is an amazing status effect, especially against big bosses, because it reflects part of their damage back.

Cuteness Rating: 7/10 - I love the design a lot, but Verus loses cuteness points because it looks more like an evolved form than the starting one.

B Tier - Good Units With Some Downsides

These are dragons that have good potential, especially in the right team, but have some downsides that prevent them from being as all-around useful as the ones in the Dragon Village Rumbe higher tiers.

DragonDetails
Magnas
Magnas
Water - Attacker
+ Magnas' skill increases the crit rate of three other allies, giving a good damage boost to your team.

- The effectiveness of the buff varies, depending on whether it hits another attacker or a healer.

Cuteness Rating: 7/10 - Very high gremlin energy, I approve.
Taros
Taros
Fire - Attacker
+ Taros has an area of effect skill, Lava Rush, that also has a chance to buff the attack of up to four allies.

- Area of effect attacks aren't that strong in this game, since most small enemies die in one basic attack. It would be rated higher if the attack buff weren't RNG-dependent.

Cuteness Rating: 5.5/10 - Kind of basic looking to me.
Balrog in Dragon Village Rumble
Balrog
Fire - Defender
+ Balrog can hit multiple targets with Blazing Scattershot and has a chance to apply Barrier to allies, giving them a shield.

- While it isn't a bad unit, it's pretty much just a worse version of Mastema, which you get for free.

Cuteness Rating: 7/10 - Pretty cute design for one angry boy, but I will never forgive you for trying to kill Gandalf.
Enix
Enix
Tree - Healer
+ Enix fires multiple missiles with Accelerated Recovery which damage enemies and have a chance to heal allies over time.

- The heal triggers only 25% of the time, so it can be pretty unreliable at times.

Cuteness Rating: 10/10 - Even though this isn't usually the type of design I enjoy, I can't deny that it is adorable and precious.
Lemures in Dragon Village Rumble
Lemures
Chaos - Attacker
+ Lemures can hit multiple enemies with Arcane Magic, with a decent chance of applying Wound, reducing their healing, and amplifying all damage received.

- It's here to boost the damage of your team, but it doesn't really do much on its own.

Cuteness Rating: 5.5/10 - I want to like it more than I do, but something feels off every time I look at it.
Glacidon in Dragon Village Rumble
Glacidon
Water - Defender
+ Glacidon deals damage to multiple enemies with Frostburst and applies Barrier to three allies, shielding them from harm.

- Damage tends to fall off when fighting bosses.

Cuteness Rating: 8/10 - I love a good ice dragon design, plus it reminds me of Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

C Tier - Better Off Avoiding

While no dragon is truly unplayable, since this is an idle RPG after all, these are just underwhelming when compared to others.

DragonDetails
Teddin
Teddin
Tree - Healer
+ Teddin heals three allies with Heart of the Puppet without relying on random chance to determine if it will hit or not.

- Deals little to no damage, which makes it a dedicated healer in a game that doesn't need one.

Cuteness Rating: 2/10 - It looks like it used to be a dragon, and then it got cursed and turned into a doll.
Mistictiny
Mistictiny
Tree - Attacker
+ Mistictiny has a chance to apply Speed Up to two allies every time it uses Phantom Gale.

- Its damage is pretty underwhelming, with even defenders doing more.

Cuteness Rating: 5/10 - Don't want to rate it higher, because it doesn't look like a dragon to me, but i have to admit that it's pretty cute.

Dragon Village Rumble Tier List FAQ

Can you reroll your account?

Yes, the game lets you log in with a guest account to test your luck at the start and see if you want to try again. Do note that you will need to delete the game and reinstall it each time.

Is rerolling your account worth it?

I wouldn't recommend it because you get most of your dragons from eggs that take quite a while to hatch, especially the higher rarity ones. While you can wait several hours and see what you get from them, it's a waste of time in my opinion, because you can easily go through the game with the starting dragons and accumulate the ones you want over time.

Should I only use dragons of the advantageous element for the given stage?

Not necessarily, especially at the start, since you won't have enough resources to upgrade enough of them. Focus on upgrading your core team of six, while having some flexible replacements to switch out a dragon if it's at a disadvantage.

Is any element better than the others?

While not strictly better, I would suggest focusing on your Chaos dragons simply because they are equally good against all elements, with the exception that they both take more damage and deal more damage to Chaos enemies.
