There are six specializations in Dragon's Dogma 2. Below is what each of them does for you in the game:

  • Woodland Wordsmith: Pawns with this specialization can speak and interpret Elvish for you.
  • Logistician: They will move items between inventories and combine materials on their own.
  • Forager: These guys will help identify and mark enhanced material locations on your map.
  • Aphonite: Pawns with this specialization don't speak unless necessary.
  • Hawker: This one can purchase items from inventory for gold.
  • Chirurgeon: These will use curatives on you and other Pawns.

How to get Pawns with Specializations

To get Pawns with specialization, you have to find a rift and get inside. When there, interact with Rift and open official or other players' list of Pawns. Press the dedicated button to show Pawn's Specialization/Quest tab in the list.

When that info is visible, scroll through the list, and you will come across Pawns, which will have their specializations listed. You could also wander in the Rift to find a Pawn with specialization, but I found it much faster and easier to navigate through the list of Pawns and summon the one I wanted.

How to teach your Pawn a specialization

If you want to teach your own Pawns specialization, then you have to go through the grind of befriended NPCs that have those traits. If you trade or talk to such NPCs often, your Pawns will be able to learn a specialization.
