How to complete Thop’s Questline in Elden Ring

Thop is an NPC found in the Church of Irith that sells a few Sorceries to the player. Advancing through their questline rewards the coveted Erudition Gesture, an important key to many additional puzzles in the game. To do this, players will need a spare Academy Glintstone Key.

Where To Locate Thops And The Academy Glintstone Key

After defeating Godrick, players will have more of the map to explore in Liurnia. The NPC will stay at the Church of Irith until given the item he requires. Once players gain access to Raya Lucaria Academy, they can begin searching for the key for Thops to gain access to the Academy. At the Debate Hall Site of Grace, players can head left and jump through the rooftops. The Academy Glintstone Key can be found by jumping through the window of the main building, dropping to the rafters, and landing onto the chandelier.

Finding Thops In Raya Lucaria Academy

After giving Thops the Academy Glintstone Key, players can go back to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace and travel just outside the building. Immediately to the right as players exit outside, Thops can be found, along with his Bell Bearing, Academy Glintstone Staff, and the spell Thops's Barrier. Players can give the Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold to purchase the same spells he was selling.

Going back to the Church of Irith will spawn a Teardrop Scarab that, when killed, drops the Thop's Barrier Ash of War.
