Getting to the Cerulean Coast isn't exactly the straightest path in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree. But after plenty of stumbling around like a muppet, I eventually found my way, and I'll help you find yours too.
How to find the Ellac River in Shadow of the Erdtree
To get to the Ellac River, which will in turn lead us to the Cerulean Coast, you'll want to start at the Castle Front Site of Grace in Scadu Altus. From here, you'll want to head down the path that leads left when coming directly from the Site of Grace. From here, progress a short while, and then take the sloping path down on the right.
Continue down this path for another short while, until you see a path heading off to the left. Follow this until you reach a Miyazaki classic, a poisonous swamp. Here, head left and continue on until the area opens up and you can go left once more. Head down this slope until you reach a basin with a big ol' crab just chilling out in it. Here, turn left to see a cave entrance guarded by some poisonous flowers.
Navigate through the caves (which is a relatively straightforward section), and you'll be in the Ellac River proper. Continue to find your first Site of Grace in this area, the Ellac River Cave Site of Grace. Continue on and you'll have to do some jumps between rocks to move forward, but they're not particularly life-threatening. Jump down when possible, and eventually you'll see a corpse with an item on a rock you can jump to. This item is one of the crafting recipe cookbooks (1), so it's definitely worth grabbing. Carry on dropping down cliffs carefully straight ahead (2).
Eventually after dropping down enough, there'll be another Site of Grace, this one being the Ellac River Downstream Site of Grace. You'll have to descend even further, but eventually, you'll be greeted with a (rather pretty) enclosed meadow, filled with some massive rams. They're also golden and can summon lightning if you get on their nerves, so don't dawdle. Another thing that's quite difficult to miss is the Giant Fire enemy, which should be avoided. Follow the water here to reach a slope leading upwards, which is the final stretch before you reach the magnificent Cerulean Coast.
Once you're there, take in the splendor of this stunning area for just a second, and then find yourself the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace. This area has a lot of secrets and bosses, including a very large dungeon with some juicy lore tidbits, and a boss fight with an undead dragon. It also has a bunch of those blue squoogly (best word I could think of) fellas kicking about, and I for one just can't get enough of 'em.
