The Steam page for Elden Ring had its minimum system requirements quietly updated earlier today. Many people will be happy with the specs, except for the RAM, which seems bizarre next to such a light GPU.
According to the Steam page for Elden Ring, the following minimum requirements are needed:
- OS: Windows 10, Windows 11
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB / AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB
- RAM: 12GB
- Storage: 60GB free space

The rest of the specs are pretty good for a mid-range PC, which is why the RAM is so strange in comparison. Most gamers use 8GB of RAM or dual 4GB of RAM in this day and age, so 12 GB is pretty high for a minimum requirement. Even Sifu, a game that requires perfect response time and where even the slightest bump in speed can mean death, has a minimum requirement of 8GB of RAM.
It is currently unknown what the recommended requirements will be, but we can expect high-end specs based on the minimum RAM requirement.
