In Elden Ring, players will come across several variants of Smithing Stones, and these are required to upgrade weapons, armor, and armaments. Players can collect Smithing Stones from specific areas or choose to buy them in exchange for Runes. However, you will need to complete a few quests first to unlock the option to buy Smithing Stones.
Smithing Stones can be purchased from two NPCs in the game, Twin Maiden Husks, and Smithing Master Iji. Twin Maiden Husks is located at the Roundtable Hold, while Smithing Master Iji is located north of Liurnia of the Lakes.Â

To acquire Smithing Stones from the Twin Maiden Husks, players will need to obtain Smithing Miner's Bell-Bearings by defeating certain bosses. The first boss is Crystalian, who is located at the bottom of Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel. Defeat the boss and bring the Smithing Miner's Ball Bearing 1 to Twin Maiden Husks to buy Smithing Stones 1 and 2.Â
Similarly, players will find the Smithing Miner's Ball Bearing 2 inside a tunnel near Leyndell Royal Capital. This will unlock Smithing Stone 3 and 4, which players can purchase from the Twin Maiden Husks. Smithing Miner's Ball Bearing 3 can be found on a decaying body at the First Church of Marika near the Mountaintops of Giants.
