How to grab in Fall Guys, explained

Fall Guys is a frantic and fast-paced platforming battle royale with a simple premise—survive a series of rounds and reach the end to grab a Crown. Despite its simple premise, there is surprising depth to the title. Some of this comes from the challenges, but it also from the controls, including grabbing. This may leave you wondering how to grab in Fall Guys.

Fall Guys Grabbing Guide

To grab in Fall Guys, press one of the following buttons, depending on which platform you play on.

• PlayStation: R2
• Xbox: RT
• Nintendo Switch: Zr
• PC: Shift

Pressing the grab button will make your Bean extend their arms in front of them and grab what is there. This can be used for various reasons, but mostly for gameplay mechanics. Certain game modes will require you to pick up and carry objects, so you will need to know how to use the grab button for this. Grabbing is also required to climb in Fall Guys.

Another great use of the grab button is to grab onto players. This will keep them in place for a brief moment, leaving them unable to move. Another technique is to grab a player near an edge, as they will be pushed back slightly when released from your grab. This can potentially knock them off the course and eliminate them.

This can also paint a target on your back, despite how fun it is to grab others and potentially kill them. Other players may notice you grabbing and return the favor. So, be careful with grabbing, or you may just find another Bean holding on to you.
