Best Fallout 4 Starting Stats

Best starting stats!

Starting out in Fallout 4 can be a fun process, from creating your character's look to deciding your stats and build. Your choice for starting stats can make a big difference when first beginning the game. Depending on what stats you choose, you will have access to different perks early on. I, like many players, always want to make sure I am not missing out on some early-game advantages. Here are the best Fallout 4 starting stats.

Fallout 4 Best Starting Stats

  • Strength: 5
  • Perception: 4
  • Endurance: 3
  • Charisma: 1
  • Intelligence: 4
  • Agility: 3
  • Luck: 7

Depending on your playstyle, some of these stats can be tweaked and adjusted to give you better perks in areas you may want to focus on. However, these beginning stats will allow you to access some of the best early-game perks to level up quickly and survive in the nuclear wasteland. For example, if you want to focus on shooting with VATS, you may want to put more points into Perception and Agility. If you want to focus on diplomacy and building settlements, you may want to put a few more points into Charisma. Make sure to look at the perks menu to see the minimum stats needed to unlock those perks.

During the early game, some stats may be better left to upgrade later on. When you're first getting started, you will want to focus on unlocking certain perks that will help you throughout the game. Here are some of the perks that you can unlock starting out in Fallout 4 based on the best starting stats.

Fallout 4 Best Starting Perks

  • Locksmith: Requires 4 Perception
  • Lifegiver: Requires 3 Endurance
  • Medic: Requires 2 Intelligence
  • Hacker: Requires 4 Intelligence
  • Sneak: Requires 3 Agility
  • Mysterious Stranger: Requires 4 Luck
  • Idiot Savant: Requires 5 Luck

Taking Idiot Savant early on will allow you to quickly level up by getting the chance at extra XP on any action. This can be very helpful with advancing your levels and unlocking more perks early in Fallout 4. The Hacker and Locksmith perks can be very helpful as well, as there will be many lockpicking and hacking opportunities in early areas. As long as you can keep track of what perks you want for your playthrough and level up the stats required, you should have no problem creating a build you will be happy with.
