How to defeat Gorgimera in Final Fantasy 16

It's a chimera!

Gorgimera is an upgraded chimera you can find in The Velkroy Desert. As level 45, it’s quite formidable—though admittedly the easier of the S-Ranks to handle. Still, if you’re having a bit of trouble with this mark, I’ve got you. Here’s how you can beat Gorgimera in Final Fantasy XVI.

The reason why Gorgimera isn’t as big of a threat as the others is because it’s slow and charges all its attacks. This means you'll always see where its attacks are going to land. You don’t even have to dodge most of the time—staying away from the hit zone should be more than enough to keep yourself safe. It’s beatable on a level as low as 35.

Gorgimera relies heavily on magic, and you should too. There isn’t an attack big enough of a threat to faraway enemies. Bahamut’s abilities are all good options for this hunt.

Since you should already have Shiva’s powers by this point of the game, use it. More specifically, upgrade Diamond Dust. Master it if you don’t want to equip the Shiva Eikon. This is a move that cuts your enemies’ will gauges significantly. Using it on Gorgimera, along with Garuda’s tornado in the background, will stagger it so often that it’ll barely get an attack in.

Again, it’s really slow and not a huge threat. After this, you can probably try your hand at Svarog, the menace that took me a couple of tries to beat. Now that beast is a true master of magic.
