How to complete the FFXIV Dragon Quest X collab event & obtain rewards

Per the Lodestone's announcement, like its previous iterations, FFXIV's Dragon Quest X collab event questline starts in the same location of Ul'dah - Steps of Nald. From the main aetheryte, head left down the main street and look for a Lalafell NPC named Havak Alvak near the Chocobo Post at (X:12.1, Y:8.2). They will have a quest for you to pick up called 'Breaking Brick Mountains'.

Next, go and speak to the Beefy Businessman standing outside the Thaumaturge's Guild. From there, you'll be tasked with seeking out and completing the FATE "Brick by Brick", followed by either "Brick by Stone Brick" or "Brick by Gold Brick" in any of the following locations:

  • Central Thanalan, Sil'dih Excavation Site (X:18.0, Y:23.5)
  • Lower La Noscea, Blind Iron Mines (X:27.0, Y:17.3)
  • Upper La Noscea, Camp Bronze Lake (X:34.1, Y:24.1)
  • Central Shroud, Bentbranch Meadows (X:23.6, Y:23.9)
  • North Shroud, Finders' Bluff (X:15.8, Y:31.0)

Complete these open-world challenges with a combat job and you'll receive a chunk of Brickman. Deliver it to the Beefy Businessman, and an...interesting cutscene will commence afterward.

Once that's done, turn in the quest to Mr. Beefy and you'll receive the Thug's Mask and the Wind-Up Brickman minion. You'll also get access to one other reward from the Toughie NPC vendor (X:8.2, Y:12.2), standing nearby. She'll be standing near the Beefy Businessman NPC, and offers the King Slime Crown for 57 gil.

Important Note: In regards to the two headpiece rewards, in the 2021 iteration of the event, Hrothgar or Viera races could not wear the King Slime Crown. The Thug's Mug could be worn by Hrothgar but not Viera races. If this has changed in the 2024 version of the event, we will update this information promptly.

Additionally, if you've completed this event before, you can utilize the Seasonal Event Replay feature to restart the event completely on your current character and play it from scratch. Otherwise, if you made some progress during a previous iteration of the event, you can still pick up where you left off.

FFXIV Dragon Quest X collab event start and end dates

While completing it takes a little bit of work, the FFXIV Dragon Quest X collaboration event will run from June 5 until June 20, which gives players about two weeks to brick-break as many golems as possible. It'll be one last notch in the belt for Warriors of Light a few days before Dawntrail's release. Well, the game no longer has belts, but you get what I mean.

Also don't forget that the Fall Guys collaboration event has returned to the Gold Saucer as well, and will end on June 10. Check out our guide for how to get those Fall Guys rewards.
