How to join the Final Fantasy XIV Xbox Open Beta
Final Fantasy XIV will launch on Xbox as part of the FFXIV: Endwalker 6.5X patch series. All you have to do to sign up for the open beta is install the game when it releases on Xbox. The game will feature a huge free trial for those new to the game, and it’s likely you’ll be able to migrate your progress if you’ve already got a Final Fantasy XIV account.
When does the FFXIV Xbox Open Beta release?
The Xbox Open Beta releases alongside the 6.5 patch series. Final Fantasy XIV has a four-month patch cycle, where a major numbered patch—6.1, 6.2, 6.3, and so on—will be released every four months. 6.4 released in May 2023, so our best estimate (ahead of the official announcement) is that 6.5 will be released in September 2023, and the Xbox Open Beta will release sometime after that.
Will FFXIV on Xbox be cross-play?
We’ve got our fingers crossed very hard that FFXIV on Xbox will be crossplay. The game has had crossplay between PS4, PS5, and PC since its launch. But without official confirmation, we’ll just have to wait and see!
