In Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.3, a host of new mounts and minions were added. One of the most surprising was the Blackjack mount, a huge airship to transport your Warrior of Light across the world. Here’s how to unlock the Blackjack mount in FFXIV.

How to get the Blackjack mount in FFXIV

The Blackjack mount is unlocked at the Manderville Gold Saucer for 4,000,000 MGP. To unlock it, head to the Saucer and speak to the Gold Saucer Attendant <Prize Claim>(X: 5.2, Y: 6.6). Select the Prize Exchange III dialog option and the Blackjack Identification Key. Activate the item in your inventory, and you can now ride the Blackjack!

What is the Blackjack mount in Final Fantasy XIV?

The Blackjack airship is the airship from Final Fantasy VI, which transports the main characters around the world and allows them to travel the overworld much faster than by foot and bypass mountains. However, Blackjack hasn’t appeared in FFXIV before. This seems to be a homage to the game rather than implying that there will be more FFVI content in-game.

Still, the Blackjack bares some resemblance to the airships and vehicles of the Sky Pirates, which make a renewed appearance in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.3 as part of Tataru’s Grand Endeavour. Whether the Sky Pirates will need to call upon a large and reliable ship like the Blackjack in the future remains to be seen!
