In Final Fantasy XIV, players can take up the challenge of becoming the best hunter in the land by taking part in bounty hunting objectives called The Hunt. The Grand Companies launched The Hunt to protect Eorza from monstrous threats. There are a few requirements for The Warrior of Light to join the Hunt, but the rewards are well worth the effort.
Unlocking The Hunt
Head to your Grand Company's Headquarters and speak to Mimio Mio for the Immortal Flames, Trachraet for Maelstrom, or Scarlet for the Twin Adder to get the Let The Hunt Begin Quest. Each one will send you to their respective Hunt Board to speak with the Hunt Billmaster. Accomplish this task to complete the quest and join The Hunt.
Your career as Eorzea's newest bounty hunter all starts with the Let the Hunt Begin Side Quest. To access this quest, first, make sure you have completed the following:
- Joined a Grand Company
- Reached Grand Company rank of Second Lieutenant
- Reached Level 50
Once those conditions have been met, head on over to your Grand Company's headquarters in Ul'dah, Limsa Lominsa, or New Gridania, depending on which company you've joined.

Hunting Marks and collecting rewards
Mark Bills
Now that you're a certified hunter, it's time to pick up a Mark and take it down. Monsters available to hunt are posted as Mark Bills on the Hunt Board, which you can then accept to initiate a hunt for that particular enemy. Mark Bills can only be picked up at your Grand Company's headquarters, however, which means players who are members of the Immortal Flames will not be able to use the Twin Adder Hunt Board and vice-a-versa.
Mark Bills are split into two categories with varying rewards—Regular Mark Bills and Elite Mark Bills. Each type of Bill will display the name and number of targets to be hunted, where they can be located, and the reward being offered for taking them down. New Regular Mark Bills are posted to the Hunt Board every day, typically consisting of enemies commonly found around Eorzea and yielding a small amount of Gil and Allied Seals.
New Elite Mark Bills, on the other hand, are added once per week on Tuesday. These monsters are much more powerful than Regular Mark Bills and only appear under certain conditions, but gift players with a greater amount of Gil and Allied Seals upon completion. If you're looking for a good way to build up a large amount of Allied Seals, Elite Mark Bills are a great option.
Exchanging Allied Seals
Once enough Allied Seals have been collected, players can exchange them for a whole host of rewards by speaking with the Hunt Billmaster. You can obtain unique Grand Company weapons and armor through the use of Allied Seals and various minions and Housing items that you can use to decorate your humble abode.
Players can even get their hands on Alexandrite, which is used as a catalyst to upgrade Animus Zodiac Weapons into Novus Zodiac Weapons. The best part is that Allied Seals don't have an expiration date, so feel free to save up for the items you really want!
