How to unlock the Master Role quest in Final Fantasy XIV

Role quests are seeing an expansion with Patch 6.1 in Final Fantasy XIV. Players that have put in the time or those looking for bragging rights can take on the Master role quest.

To unlock the Master role quest, players will need to speak with Shirabaht in Radz-at-Han (X: 7.7, Y: 9.4) to begin the "Bitter Snow" quest. To unlock the Master role quest, players will need to have completed the following quests:

  • Main Scenario Quest "Endwalker"
  • Tank role quest: "A Path Unveiled"
  • Melee DPS role quest: "To Calmer Seas"
  • Physical ranged DPS role quest: "Laid to Rest"
  • Magical ranged DPS role quest: "Ever March HEavensward"
  • Healer role quest: "The Gift of Mercy"

To take on any role quest, players will need a character at level 85 for the respective role. Players will then need to reach level 90 to progress through the role quest. Each of the assigning role quest NPCs can be found in Radz-at-Han (X: 7.8, Y: 9.4).

The "Bitter Snow" quest is four parts long and moves the story along in unexpected ways. Completion rewards an achievement and the Blessed Relief title.
