All changes to the Heavy Sniper in the 20.10 Fortnite update

Time to tank the tanks.

The Heavy Sniper in Fortnite is a sniper rifle that has been vaulted for several seasons. Many players loved to use this sniper for precision headshots that, more often than not, eliminate an opponent in a single hit. However, with an incredibly slow reload time, it served little purpose for players who weren't experts with this type of weapon.

In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2's first update (Patch 20.10), the Heavy Sniper was not only unvaulted, but received several changes to make it a more effective weapon for all players, instead of an elite few. Here are all the changes we know of:

  • Damage: 120 / 128 / 132
  • Headshot Damage: 180 / 192 / 198
  • Build Damage: 600 / 630 / 660
  • Reload Time: 4 / 3.8 / 3.5
  • Vehicle Damage: 640+

Based on the buffs and nerfs given to the Heavy Sniper, it seems it is now intended to be used on vehicles rather than other players. While the effective damage is still high enough to take out a player with a single shot (even without a headshot), the headshot damage has lowered, and the vehicle damage has been increased.

Players who like to take the high-armored tanks, rejoice! Find a Heavy Sniper and use the improved reload time to quickly dismantle any vehicle in your path.
