Fortnite teases Midas’s return since Chapter 2

Midas, the king with the golden touch that ruled the island back in Fortnite Chapter 2 is set to make a dramatic return in the latest season. Midas played an integral part in shaping the island, so here's what you need to know about his return.

Is Midas coming back in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2?

Midas is undoubtedly one of the most prominent characters in Fortnite's storyline, playing an integral part throughout Chapter 2. The plot revolved around factions like the Shadow and Ghost, and Midas ruled them secretly. This character played a major part during the events that led to exposing the Zero Point.

During this event, Midas used a device to stop the storm circle from moving in on the island. This was done to break the time loop that trapped all the characters stuck on the Fortnite island. A majority of the community believes that Midas was able to escape the loop and has been working behind the scenes ever since.

Midas's Drum Gun was added as a mythic weapon back in Chapter 5 Season 1, and eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot this as a prelude to the king's return. With the latest teaser, it seems Midas will be returning to Chapter 5 Season 2 with a new design altogether.

A new cosmetic update will bring the Ascendant Midas skin to the game. It seems Midas has got a massive makeover, with a golden Zeus-like crown and warrior armor. This epic rarity outfit is surely to become one of the most popular skins this season.

As for the lore-related changes, we shall see how Midas' arrival shakes up the established order set by the Greek gods. Perhaps the Shadow faction is resurgent, and we might get to see other popular characters like Brutus, Jules, and Meowscles soon enough in Fortnite Chapter 5.
