Fortnite Chapter 3 is right around the corner and fans are wondering how long the new storyline will last compared to its predecessors. A Chapter usually spans between 2 to 3 years, while seasons last for 12 to 14 weeks in the Fortnite Universe.

Nevertheless, Chapter 2 Season 1 was the longest-running episode in Fortnite's history ranging across 18 weeks. Followed by Chapter 2 Season 2, which lasted for 17 weeks, it shows how the first few seasons are crucial to setting up the narrative. Here are all the start and end dates for every season in Fortnite so far!

Chapter 1

Fortnite Chapter 1 started on Dec. 13, 2017, and every season lasted for about 10 to 12 weeks. It ended with the black hole event on Oct. 13, 2019, where the servers were down for about 36 hours.

  • Season 1: Seven weeks (Oct. 25, 2017 to Dec. 13, 2017)
  • Season 2: Nine weeks (Dec. 14, 2017 to Feb. 21, 2018)
  • Season 3: Nine weeks (Feb. 22, 2018 to April 30, 2018)
  • Season 4: 10 weeks (May 1, 2018 to July 12, 2018)
  • Season 5: 11 weeks (July 12, 2018 to Sept. 27, 2018)
  • Season 6: 10 weeks (Sept. 27, 2018 to Dec. 6, 2018)
  • Season 7: 12 weeks (Dec. 6, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2019)
  • Season 8: 10 weeks (Feb. 28, 2019 to May 9, 2019)
  • Season 9: 12 weeks (May 10, 2019 to Aug. 1, 2019)
  • Season X: 10 weeks (Aug. 2 2019 to Oct. 13, 2019)

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 commenced on Oct. 15, 2019. Each season lasted for around 14 to 18 weeks and the Season 8 will come to an end soon on Dec. 7, 2021.

  • Season 1: 18 weeks (Oct. 15, 2019 to Feb. 20, 2020)
  • Season 2: 17 weeks (Feb. 20, 2020 to June 17, 2020)
  • Season 3: 10 weeks (June 17, 2020 to Aug. 27, 2020)
  • Season 4: 14 weeks (Aug. 27, 2020 to Dec. 1, 2020)
  • Season 5: 15 weeks (Dec. 2, 2020 to March 15, 2021)

Based on this pattern, fans can expect Fortnite Chapter 3 to run for a couple of years, with each season spanning between 12 to 16 weeks.
