How to beat Countess Daraku in Fortnite

Time to challenge the Countess...

With the High Stakes Revenge set of Fortnitemares quests, you'll need to track down the NPC Countess Daraku and get some revenge for Joni the Red by challenging her to a duel. Even though Countess Daraku may not be as fearsome as other bosses around the map, you'll still want to play your cards right to come out on top. Here's how you can successfully find and defeat her in Fortnite.

You'll find Countess Daraku on the eastern side of Eclipsed Estate, in the landmark Eastern Watch Tower. She usually can be seen walking around the outside of the tower or occasionally at the top. You can find her more easily by looking for the chat bubble over her head.

Countess Daraku won't start as a hostile character like other bosses on the map. She will have the chat bubble symbol over her, allowing you to talk to her and purchase some weapons if you would like. This actually makes it much easier to defeat her because you will have time to gear up before facing her in battle. I went through the whole tower, grabbed whatever was available to me there, and even purchased a shield pot and a better weapon from her for Gold Bars before challenging her.

Once you're ready to face Countess Daraku, preferably with a full shield and a few weapons at your disposal, talk to her and select the Challenge Countess Daraku option. Initiating a duel will throw you back a safe distance from her to begin. I was able to take her down with about 4 to 5 good headshots with a shotgun. She doesn't have the insane shield that some other bosses have, but she does have fast-firing weapons, which is why it's a good idea to have a full shield before starting the duel. The faster you can take her down, the better because you can avoid other players coming and hitting you in the back. Once you've defeated her, you'll complete your quest!

If another player has beaten you to challenge her to a duel and defeated her, don't worry; you can still complete your quest even if you run into these complications. Countess Daraku will still show up at the location as a ghost, usually roaming around the area where she was defeated. You can speak to her the same way as before, and you won't even have to fight her.

You could even hide somewhere nearby and let another player take her down if you don't feel like fighting her yourself. Either way, you can complete your quest easily and progress toward your Fortnitemares rewards.
