With the release of the LEGO Fortnite v28.30 update, you can enjoy fishing as a new feature. However, you will need to make a fishing rod first, so this guide will show you how to get the materials and craft a fishing rod in LEGO Fortnite.
How to craft Fishing Rod in LEGO Fortnite
LEGO Fortnite allows you to craft four different fishing rods, and here's the recipe for each rod so you can catch all the fish you need:
- Common Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 1 Crafting Bench): 1x Wooden Rod, 2x Cord, 1x Wolf Claw
- Uncommon Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 2 Crafting Bench): 2x Knotroot Rod, 3x Cord, 1x Silk Thread, 3x Wolf Claw
- Rare Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 3 Crafting Bench): 3x Flexwood Rod, 1x Drawstring, 2x Wool Thread, 3x Sand Claw
- Epic Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 4 Crafting Bench): 3x Frostpine Rod, 2x Drawstring, 3x Heavy Wool Thread, 3x Arctic Claw
As you may expect, you’re more likely to pull in your catch with a higher-rarity Fishing Rod, but the lower-rarity ones are easier to make.

How to catch a fish in LEGO Fortnite
Similar to the battle royale mode, head to any nearby water body, such as a river or lake, in LEGO Fortnite and cast your fishing rod into the water. When the fish grabs your bait, simply press the left click on your mouse to catch the fish finally.
Each fish you catch in LEGO Fortnite has a unique ability, so knowing the different kinds of fish available in the game is beneficial:
- Orange Flopper
- Blue Flopper
- Green Flopper
- Vendetta Flopper
- Black and Blue Shield Fish
- Purple Thermal Fish
- Raven Thermal Fish
- Silver Thermal Fish
- Blue Slurp Fish
- Purple Slurp Fish
- Yellow Slurp Fish
- Blue Small Fry
- Cuddle Jelly Fish
- Slurp Jelly Fish
- Molten Spicy Fish
Please note: Different fish can be found based on the biome and water you’re fishing in, and also the weather and time of day.
