Where to find Malfunctioning Vending Machines in Fortnite

Finding machines isn't the problem, but finding malfunctioning ones is.

One of the Season Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 requires players to purchase an item from a malfunctioning vending machine. This can be either a Weapon-O-Matic or Mending Machine, but it must be malfunctioning. Malfunctioning vending machines look similar to regular ones but have a red front with a large red exclamation point on the front. There are no set locations for malfunctioning vending machines, as there is a chance that any regular vending machine can be malfunctioning.

Players will need 100 Gold Bars and a bit of luck when trying to find a malfunctioning vending machine in Fortnite. The best places to look are:

  • Coney Crossroads
  • Sleepy Sound
  • Condo Canyon

These three locations have three vending machines each that are within close proximity to each other. Other areas on the map above that have a higher concentration of machines should be next in the search. Players will need to keep checking vending machines until they find a malfunctioning one and they can use the 100 Gold Bars to purchase an item from it, completing the quest.
