Genshin Impact's cast of playable characters each wields one of five weapons assigned to them: claymore, sword, catalyst, polearm, or bow. Among all the weapon types, catalysts are currently only used by female characters, which means that there's no male catalyst user in the game.
However, that doesn't mean to say that males aren't allowed to wield catalysts. HoYoverse, Genshin Impact's developer, simply hasn't released one.
Genshin Impact's Male to Female Character Ratio
Assuming that Aether and Lumine are counted as two separate entities, there are currently 49 playable characters in-game. Among them, there are 17 males and 32 females, which also translates to a playable character population of approximately 35 percent male and 65 percent female.

In contrast, other weapon types hold these male-to-female character ratios:
- Claymore: four males, five females
- Polearm: three males, six females
- Bow: three males, seven females
