Eight Locales Over Mountains and Seas: Snowswept Fairytale — Genshin Impact Event Guide

The Eight Locales Over Mountains and Seas is an event that runs from Feb. 4, 2022 to Feb. 14, 2022. It takes you back to Chinju Forest, where the sealed bake-danuki Ioroi asks you to take the young Kichiboushi out on an adventure. Players Adventure Rank 30 and above who have completed the following quests are eligible to participate:

• Ritou Escape Plan (part of the Archon Quest Chapter II: Act I—The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia)
• Tanuki-Bayashi in the Forest (part of the Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual World Quest)

When both prerequisites have been fulfilled, you'll receive an Event Quest called Eight Locales Over Mountains and Seas. It will prompt you to head to Chinju Forest and complete dialogues with Ioroi and Kuchiboushi. Once that's done, you can initiate the event tasks from the event menu.

Snowswept Fairytale

Only the Snowswept Fairytale is open on the first day. The rest will open up as the event progresses. Click Get Quest to initiate a mini-quest that starts by picking up Kuchiboushi from the Chinju Forest.

Follow the quest marker to your destination in Dragonspine. Kuchiboushi is in a mood to play, so he'll keep flitting from one place to the next. Follow him to progress, and listen to his bell if you're having trouble spotting him against the snowscape. He'll eventually stop by the edge of a cliff after transforming into a torch.

Use a Pyro Skill to light up the torch and force Kuchiboushi out of his transformation. After, follow the quest marker to the nearby mountain, where the bake-danuki will transform into a pile of snow.

Likewise, use a Pyro Skill on the pile of snow to disperse Kuchiboushi's disguise. Follow him for a few steps, and you'll be prompted to take his photo.

Once that's done, The Great Snowboar King will interrupt your adventure. Defeat the boss, then speak with Kuchiboushi before heading back to the Chinju Forest to report the day's happenings to Ioroi.
