How to Reroll in Genshin Impact

Update March 11

MiHoYo has now changed how creating accounts works. Before you only had to create a Username only. However, upon registering you need to sign up with an Email now, this changes the effort on the user's part to reroll. However, if banning was ever a thing due to rerolling, creating a new email and account now alleviates that option. If you don't pull the characters you want, just delete both and start again.

Rinse and repeat.

If you're just starting out in Genshin Impact along with everyone else, then you are likely considering whether or not it is worth it to look for specific or high star characters. Well, if you are wanting to min-max, or you want to play the game seriously without spending too much money, it can be worth it to try to start out with the best options available to you.

How to Reroll for Characters

Rerolling in Genshin Impact can be accomplished by creating multiple accounts with a username only. You can head to this link, and create a Mihoyo account with just a username and not an email address. You can then login to the game, head to level 5 or 7 to receive a currency that allows you to purchase characters. If you don't get the one you want, just create a new account and restart the process!

Leveling to these early milestones will take about 20 minutes for level 5 and 45 minutes for level 7. It is really up to you if you want to spend all of that time attempting to get the character you absolutely want. Once you have reached rank 5, you will get 10 Acquaint Fates in the mail. These are a currency used to purchase from the character pages under the characters tab!

What Should I Reroll to Get?

As mentioned, he requires you to reach level 7, which takes about double the amount of time to get to. If you just want a strong character, then leveling to 5 and looking to get a 5-star is going to be the best bang for your buck. Trying to get a specific 5-star will be quite difficult, so just be happy you have a 5-star at all and start using that account.

Will Rerolling Get Me Banned?

There's been different takes on this and some are saying that it's fine and others are saying you could get banned. The official word, according to Demone Kim on YouTube, is that it is discouraged and you might get banned. However, this has also been disputed by many people, saying that they were only referring to people selling accounts. So, I know this is not a great answer, but we don't know for sure. This is a do it at your own risk sort of thing, and hope that nothing happens!

About the Author

Hey, my name is Mark, and I'm a video game enthusiast! My earliest memory was playing Worms on the Amiga against my Godmother, yes the Amiga, massive box type thing, needed eighty-five thousand floppy disks to play one game, maybe a slight exaggeration. Ah, those were the days! I love RPG’s, and The Legend of Zelda series. Dogs are pretty awesome.

  1. It says here that you can make a comment without using your email, just a username. However, I clicked the link and it took me straight to a page asking for my email. Is this just outdated info?

    1. Where does it say that? When I check it says you need both Nickname and Email to leave a comment.

      1. I wasn’t talking about the commenting. It’s in the article right under the section title “How to reroll for characters”. It says, “Rerolling in Genshin Impact can be accomplished by creating multiple accounts with a username only. You can head to this link, and create a Mihoyo account with just a username and not an email address.”

        1. Ah sorry for the misunderstanding! Just had a look, and you’re right it’s outdated information, the person who has written the article left not long ago, and we didn’t realise it was out of date, so thank you for bringing it to my attention. I appreciate it.

I believe they’ve changed this to stop people from rerolling without having to go through effort on the user’s part to do it. So you can either make a lot of extra emails, roll, if you roll poorly just delete the miHoYo account and your email and try again. It’s more effort, but this way you won’t get banned or anything of the sort.

Let me know if you roll anyone good!

  2. Hello I got pretty far on my first account but I didn’t get a character I wanted . I want to do another account but don’t want to lose progress on my first account.

    1. in my opinion, it’s totally worth it to sacrifice your progress as soon as you can.
I had pre-registration bonus, and I already hit rank 25, now I am thinking of doing another account, because you will regret it so much if you didn’t pull a good character, someone that you enjoy playing and have good synergy with the team
