As one of the most-awaited characters since he first appeared in the Unreconciled Stars event during Genshin Impact's Version 1.1 update, Scaramouche fans will be happy to hear that a player recently discovered that the Balladeer has a high chance of becoming a playable character somewhere down the line.
In the ongoing Hues of the Violet Garden event, Scaramouche made a surprise appearance as the fifth Kasen, Kuronushi. There, he appeared in a cutscene, which r/Genshin_Impact_Leaks member u/vendeta101 observed to feature a body movement that resembles a sprinting animation. This animation style is usually reserved for playable characters, as it involves complex animation work—especially given Scaramouche's detailed outfit.

While most Scaramouche fans were convinced that he would eventually be released as a playable character, doubt began to circulate after fellow Harbinger La Signora was never released as one after being killed off in the Inazuma Archon Quest. Earlier leaks suggested that he was in development, but little information has circulated since then.
Additionally, recent leaks revealed that Scaramouche could possibly make an appearance in Version 3.1 as a new Weekly Boss, following Childe and La Signora's footsteps. While his playability remains uncertain, this new observation could bring hope to self-proclaimed Scaramouche mains, who have been patiently waiting for his release for years.
