Genshin Impact Theater Mechanicus: Whither the Wind Wends (Enter the Horde) guide — Hues of the Violet Garden Event

The Adeptus Bridge is your best friend.

Genshin Impact's Hues of the Violet Garden event opens Inazuma to the rest of Teyvat with the Magnificent Irodori Festival. It runs from April 7, 2022, to April 25, 2022, and is open to all players Adventure Rank 30 and above who have completed the Ritou Escape Plan segment of the Archon Quest: Chapter II: Act I - The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia.

If you have not completed the Inazuma character Story Quests, you must access the event from the Quick Start button on the bottom left of the event menu.

How to Unlock Theater Mechanicus

The Theater Mechanicus mini-game can be unlocked by completing the Event Quest What the Blue Flowers Left Behind. This directly follows The Strange Tale of Suikou's Tipsy Tincture.

Unlike the previous iterations of Theater Mechanicus, the mechanics for this round are a little different. Co-op mode is no longer allowed, and Mystic Arts have been replaced by Fortune Sticks, which can't be enhanced. Each stage boasts an easy mode (Show of Force) and a hard mode (Enter the Horde).

Fortune Sticks

You can use any Fortune Stick that you like, but here are some recommended options to take advantage of Elemental Reactions (especially Swirl!) and the Adeptus Bridge:

  • Fortune Stick: Pyro Orb
  • Fortune Stick: Embers
  • Fortune Stick: Spring Gust
  • Fortune Stick: Vacuum
  • Fortune Stick: Wind in the Bamboo
  • Fortune Stick: Bombardier
  • Fortune Stick: Thunder-charred
  • Mystic Stick: Falling
  • Mystic Stick: Continuation
  • Mystic Stick: Reinforcement

Mechanici Placement

Reference the image above for the exact Mechanici to place on the bottom floor. Don't remove any of the existing Mechanici—even the ones on top. If you pair this strategy with the recommended Fortune Sticks above, you can get a perfect score of 3,000.

After placing the four new Mechanici on the bottom floor, you'll run out of Veneficus Points, so start the wave.

The bottom floor is self-sufficient, so you only need to manually take care of the top floor throughout the stage. Your goal is to interact with the mechanism pictured above to turn off the Adeptus Bridge whenever an enemy steps on it. This will force the enemy to fall, essentially defeating it.

The mechanism has a short cooldown, but the way the stage is naturally timed will allow you to drop all the enemies that pass by. However, to make your life a lot easier, it's recommended to place two Dust Devils to the left of the Pyro Mechanici, as pictured above. Doing so will make it easier to repel the fast Geovishaps.
