How to complete the “Seiraimaru” Boat Memory Tile puzzles in Genshin Impact

Power through these annoying puzzles for coveted Chest rewards.

There's a peculiar shipwreck located at the heart of "Seiraimaru." Upon entering it, you'll find a plethora of puzzles in the maze-like interior, including two Memory Tile puzzles—some of the only ones in the game.

Start by heading to the area circled in the image below. Your first objective is to secure an entrance to the ship.

You'll find four mechanisms surrounding a locked Exquisite Chest. Interact with the mechanisms in the following order:

  • First mechanism: Rotate counterclockwise three times
  • Second mechanism: Rotate counterclockwise three times
  • Third mechanism: Rotate counterclockwise two times
  • Fourth mechanism: Rotate counterclockwise once

If you accidentally rotate counterclockwise too many times, simply rotate clockwise to reverse the rotation. Once all four are done, a cutscene showing the entrance of the "Seiraimaru" boat will play.

First Memory Tile Puzzle

Go around the shipwreck to find a Thunder Sakura Bough. Pick up an Electrograna, then jump down to the edge on its right to find the entrance to the boat. Once inside, jump down to encounter the first Memory Tile puzzle.

To solve the puzzle, you need to step on the Tiles with the same motif in succeeding order. However, the Tiles start out blank, so there's no way to tell which symbol is on each until you start experimenting. Reference the image above for the order to step on the tiles.

If you accidentally step on a Tile not marked #1 first, don't worry as this puzzle follows a simple logic. Each number pair shares the same symbol, so #1 and #2 are the same, #3 and #4 are the same, and so on. So if you step on #5 first, your next step should be #6, and then work on another Tile pair from there.

If you step on the wrong Tile, it will flash red, and you can try again. Keep in mind that Tile #6 is inside a Thunder Barrier, so you need to have an Electrograna (from the earlier Thunder Sakura Bough) to access it. After completing the first puzzle, a cutscene will play, and the Exquisite Chest in front will unlock.

Second Memory Tile Puzzle

The second Memory Tile puzzle is located on the floor below the first puzzle. It can only be accessed after the first puzzle is completed, as the ground will only collapse and open an entrance, then.

When you're ready, head to the floor below, and you'll immediately find the second Memory Tile puzzle. It follows the exact same logic as the first, so follow the order prescribed in the image above. If you step on the wrong tile, simply follow up with its pair and choose another pair to proceed with, next.

Once you're done, another cutscene will play, and the Precious Chest in front will be open for you to loot. Completing both of these puzzles will also merit you the Wonders of the World Achievement called This and That...
