Genshin Impact can be a hard game when you're exploring unknown areas. One of the best ways to survive in the game is to bring a healer along with you. MiHoYo even goes the extra mile by giving all players a free Barbara.

Barbara is free to everyone who plays the game once they get a bit further into the story. She is a four-star hydro character and one of the only dedicated healers in the game. Like Lisa, she is a catalyst and the only hydro character that can be obtained without using wishes.

There are two tasks that you must first complete to obtain your free Barbara in Genshin Impact:

  • Complete the quest “A Long Shot.”
  • Reach Adventuer Rank 18.

After defeating Dvaline, the game's first story boss, and hitting the Adventure rank requirement, go to the event page for Barbara's Shining Debut and claim her. She will be added to your party and ready for use immediately afterward.

This event is easily done within one long-sitting or a couple of days playing casually.
