How to make Fragrant Seasonings and Dishes in the Genshin Impact Spices from the West event

Sprinkle a bit of Seasoning to elevate Liyue's cuisine.

Genshin Impact's Spices from the West event introduces the Traveler to Nazafarin, a researcher from Sumeru who's helping a friend manufacture a Seasoning that would bring happiness to the world. The event runs from May 14, 2022, to June 7, 2022, and is open to all players Adventure Rank 28 and above who have completed the quest called Idle Teapot Talk.

All eligible players will automatically get the Event Quest called A Visitor From Westward Realms. Follow the quest guide to speak with Nazafarin and start making Seasonings.

Click on Event Details to access all of the Seasoning Recipes, which will unlock gradually during the first seven days of the event. Select a Recipe, collect the specified ingredients, and click Cook to start making Seasonings. You'll need to make all of the Recipes to get the Primogem rewards, so try to gather the ingredients from General Stores and the overworld.

To play the cooking mini-game, pay attention to the ingredient highlighted at the top of the screen. This signifies the ingredient that you need to place into the pot.

The vertical bar at the bottom of the screen will keep moving left and right. Once it aligns with the gauge featuring the required ingredient, hit the spacebar (or click the button specified for mobile and PlayStation) to place the ingredient in the pot.

Repeat the same action until the mini-game ends. However, be cautious of the seven spoons at the bottom of the screen, which signify your number of "lives." Every time the vertical bar passes by the incorrect ingredient, one spoon will disappear. This will happen even if you don't put the ingredient in the pot. Once all spoons are gone, the game will fail.

To avoid failing the mini-game, make sure to catch the ingredients you need as soon as the bar aligns with their corresponding gauges. If you do fail, don't worry as you can try an unlimited number of times.

In the event menu, click Use Seasoning to cook dishes using the Fragrant Seasonings you get from the mini-game. You can create only Fragrant Dishes if you own any Delicious Dish from the list of options. Delicious Dishes can be obtained by achieving perfect cooking a dish.

At the bottom, the menu will specify how many Seasonings it costs to cook. You will receive the same number of Fragrant Dishes based on the number of Seasonings you use, but the extra Dishes are random.

For example, if you cook a Delicious Jewelry Soup using two Fragrant Seasonings, you may end up with one Fragrant Jewelry Soup and one Fragrant Crab Roe Tofu. This allows you to get Dishes for Recipes you don't have.

Fragrant Dishes can be given to Companions in the Serenitea Pot to unlock voice lines and obtain some Companionship EXP (three for each Seasoning Recipe you unlock). As the Serenitea Pot maintenance is still ongoing, you can only give the dishes to existing characters until further notice.
