HoYoverse officially announces Shikanoin Heizou for Genshin Impact

Despite version 2.7 of Genshin Impact being delayed, HoYoverse has finally broken the silence on who the upcoming character for version 2.8 will be. After months of speculation, Shikanoin Heizou has finally been announced. While we currently don't know if he's a four or five-star character, HoYoverse did drop some juicy details and splash art.

Heizou is an Anemo user, and the popular leaker Lumie on Twitter has stated that Heizou is the game's first male catalyst. He is affiliated with the Tenryou Commission, and Ayato Kamisato speaks highly of the young boy's talents. He is the game's first playable detective character, and he is said to be amazing at solving cases in Inazuma.

Heizou is said to have an out-of-the-box way of thinking that helps in solving crimes. This seems to be a bit off-putting to some in Inazuma, but all still admire his incredible skills when he is on the job. Since characters appear when they are part of the game's current story events, we should get to see Heizou in action when 2.8 launches.

Keep in mind that, as of now, we don't know the official end date of 2.6, but a character reveal seems to point to 2.8 launching soon. Heizou is the only character shown by HoYoverse for 2.8, so he will likely be the only new character in the update.
