How to level up quickly in GhostWire: Tokyo

Climb the ranks.

GhostWire: Tokyo is a title that allows players to level up and power up the main character, Akito, to learn new abilities, powers, and mechanics as he battles the hordes of Visitors invading Tokyo. To get these new abilities, however, he'll need to accumulate experience and level up. Here's how we boosted our rank quickly when playing GhostWire: Tokyo.

Spirit Transmission

The fastest way to earn experience and level up quickly in GhostWire: Tokyo is by completing Spirit Transmissions. Spirit Transmissions require players to absorb lost spirits floating around Shibuya. Use your Katashiro talismans when approaching these blue apparitions on your journey to absorb them and add the souls to your inventory. You have a limited number of Katashiro that you can carry at once, so make sure to deposit these spirits before using all of your talismans. You'll be able to increase your Katashiro talisman stock by purchasing them from the Nekotama shops or tracking them down at Shrines.

To deposit your Katashiro talismans, head to a Payphone. Search for the icon we've listed below:

Approach the Payphone, open the door, and use the device to send absorbed spirits outside of Shibuya and to safety. Once you've completed this task, you'll receive a hefty sum of XP and Meika, depending on how many spirits you deposit at once.

Completing Main/Side Missions

Main Missions in GhostWire: Tokyo appear as orange circles on the map and often list XP as the main reward. Players will also encounter tougher Visitors worth more experience when playing the campaign missions in GhostWire: Tokyo.

Side Missions are marked by green circles on the overworld map, and players can check a side mission to see the rewards they grant on top of experience. These rewards will often include Meika, which users can use to purchase supplies on their journey. Some side missions even give Magatama, a rare resource players need to unlock certain skills in their skill tree.

Killing Visitors

The easiest way to gain XP while playing GhostWire: Tokyo is by killing Visitors during your travels. They may not grant as much Spirit Transmission or completing missions, but these adversaries are bountiful in Tokyo, and after some practice, you'll be able to kill them with ease.
