How to reduce Wanted Level in GTA 3 – Remastered

Get the cops off you fast!

Cops are inevitable in the GTA world and are one of the staple features of the entire series. Each game has its own methods of evading the police and reducing the wanted level that you will rack up from time to time. For GTA 3 - Remastered, the method remains the same as its original version: difficult at times, but not impossible. Here's how to reduce that wanted level and get the cops off your back.

At One Star

When you only have one star, this means you've committed a simple crime, possibly crashing into a cop car or running over too many pedestrians. At this point, the easy way to reduce your wanted level and get rid of the star is to just drive away and hide for a little bit. In a little under a minute, the star should go away and the cops will return to their daily business. However, this strategy is not possible with a higher wanted level. Anything at or above two stars, cops will hunt you to the ends of the earth, forever.

Two Or More Stars

When you have two or more stars the number of cops chasing you will increase and it will become much more difficult to evade them. Luckily, GTA 3 has a pickup system that allows you to get rid of a star. Located in specific places around the map, you will find blue pickups with gold police stars on them. On the east side of the map, you can find one in the image below where the player indicator is located. It is located in an alley.

Important note: Picking up one of these items will only reduce your wanted level by one star. You will have to find more to keep lowering it if you have three or more stars.
