The control scheme has been modernized to match the current GTA controls. But whether you use the new controls or the original ones, turning on the siren in these special vehicles is still the same.

To turn on the siren is the same way you honk the horn in a normal car. On consoles, pressing down on the Left Analog Stick will turn on the sirens and lights.

However, on PC the standard controls for turning on the siren is Left or Right Shift. Of course on PC, controls can easily be remapped to whatever works best for you.

Turing on the sirens will create an easier experience for navigating around the city. Cars will pull over and stop for you to pass and bystanders will move well out of your way.
