GTA fans everywhere are looking forward to the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy - Definitive Edition release; as for many people, it has been a long time coming. Unfortunately, it will not be exactly like the original releases, as a fair few songs have been cut from the soundtracks, but what about GTA III?
You will be happy to know that Grand Theft Auto III remains unscathed where the playlist culling is concerned! This is because it was a time just before Rockstar started using a lot of licensed tracks. Most of GTA III's soundtrack is non-licensed, original music, so there are no licensing conflicts.
Vice City did have some non-licensed content, such as the Rockstar-created band Love Fist, a parody of glam metal bands from the '80s. However, apart from that, it was mostly comprised of popular artists.

One notable artist on the soundtrack for GTA III is rapper Royce Da 5'9, but this was most likely commissioned music for the game, much like what Flying Lotus and Tyler, the Creator, have done for GTA V.
If you are into the '90s and '00s dance music, then GTA III's soundtrack is a good one to listen to as it has a pretty decent collection of nostalgic tunes for you!
