Where to find safehouses in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Definitive Edition

Nothing screams '80s like owning a condo!

They may not be all be decked out living spaces, but Vice City's safehouses are still good places to stash your cars and be able to save your game after a hectic time smashing windows in malls. Here are the locations and prices of the few items you can buy in the game.

We will list the price and locations for each property and if they have space for your Cheetah! Other purchasable buildings apply to businesses, but we will be covering safehouses only here.

Ocean View Hotel

This hotel complex is available to you at the start of the game, after the mission In The Beginning. You will immediately be able to save your progress, and if you head up the stairs, you will find quite a nice room with a minibar!

Cost: Free

Garage: N/A

Location: Ocean Beach

Interior Available: Yes

Vercetti Estate

Formerly Diaz's place, this becomes available to you after the mission Rub Out. It is a mansion with a lovely garden and a pool; it also has lots of random people walking around it for some reason. You will first see this once the hurricane warning is lifted and the bridges open back up.

Cost: Free

Garage: Yes (two-car capacity)

Location: Starfish Island

Interior Available: Yes

As the name suggests, this one is near The Links (golf course). From there, take the first left heading back into the city (not over the bridge). After that left, keep going down, and you will see the apartment on the left-hand side. If you reach the Pay 'n' Spray, you have gone just ever so slightly too far.

It is available after the mission In The Beginning.

Cost: $6000

Garage: Yes (one car capacity)

Location: Vice Point

Interior Available: No

El Swanko Casa

This nice home is on your way to the North Point Mall if you are coming from the direction of The Malibu Club. If you are coming from the Mall instead, turn left towards Vice Point and keep going straight. You should face the house head-on.

It is available after the mission In The Beginning.

Price: $8000

Garage: Yes (one car capacity)

Location: Vice Point

Interior Available: No

3321 Vice Point

This apartment is close to the North Point Mall and the other available home El Swanko Casa. If you are standing outside El Swanko facing away, head to the left and follow the road round. Eventually, you will happen upon 3321 Vice Point.

It is available after the mission In The Beginning.

Cost: $2500

Garage: N/A

Location: Vice Point

Interior Available: No

1102 Washington Street

This is on the same street as Ken Rosenberg's Office from the start of the game. If you look across the street from his lawyer's practice, you will pretty much see the Washington Street apartment!

It is available after the mission In The Beginning.

Price: $3000

Garage: N/A

Location: Washington Beach

Interior Available: No

Ocean Heights Apartment

These apartments are close to the Ammu-Nation and Pay 'n' Spray in Ocean Beach. If you drive to the first Ammu-Nation you visit in the game and go around the corner, you should see it.

It is available after the mission In The Beginning.

Price: $7000

Garage: Yes (one car capacity)

Location: Ocean Beach

Interior Available: No

Skumole Shack

This one isn't the easiest to find. When you are coming over the bridge from Starfish Island, turn right. Keep following the road (it should have two lanes) until it bends round to the right; then, you should see some bikers and Howling Pete's Biker Emporium.

Continue to the end of that road, and you should see some stairs at the end of the buildings. The shack is above Pete's Emporium.

It is available after the mission Phnom Penh '86.

Price: $1000

Garage: N/A

Location: Downtown

Interior Available: Yes (technically!)

Hyman Condo

This one is also a little bit tricky to find. The best way is to go all the way Downtown until you reach Hyman Memorial Stadium (you can't miss it, there will be a huge sign saying Blood Ring outside). Facing away from the stadium, drive to the end of the road and turn right.

You will see an alley to the left with some cones and the Keep Clear print on the garage. If you reach the V-Rock Office, you have gone a little bit too far.

It is available after the mission Phnom Penh '86.

Price: $14,000

Garage: Yes (eight-car capacity)

Location: Downtown

Interior Available: No (but there is roof access to a helipad with The Maverick)

Although some properties are available from the beginning of the game, you will need to save up some money first. Even though these purchases are very cheap real estate by today's standards, you will need to play for a few hours before you can start affording these places.

If you are struggling to make some dough, you can check out our article about how to make money in GTA: Vice City.

The game will inform you of when you can definitely start buying properties, but you can start purchasing as soon as you have the money. Players can purchase even the ones available after Phnom Penh '86 from the beginning, but you need to glitch your way over the bridges that are closed first.
