To Drax's ecstatic delight, Chapter 13 finds the Guardians face-to-face with the legendary dragon Fin Fang Foom, where you will eventually face a grueling battle against this giant beast. While Foom is an intimidating presence with a health bar that depletes extremely slowly, this battle can be won by staying patient and using your team's abilities to the fullest.
The first order of business: you must break Foom's Ice Armor before you can chip away at his HP. Regular attacks will affect the armor, but use the newly acquired Fire Shot from your element guns for the most damage on it. Stay on your toes—Foom's attacks will cover a large area, but they are quite slow. Make use of the full battle arena and keep your distance when you see him begin an attack.
It doesn't seem to matter in which order you destroy the armor—focus your attacks and Fire Shots on one piece at a time (chest, head, and two legs). You'll know a piece of armor is about to break when they crack—hit it a few more times, and it will crumble. Repeat this process until all of the pieces have been destroyed, finally giving you the chance to start widdling down his health bar.
After you break all the armor pieces, Foom will unleash an energy blast to the sky, breaking up giant chunks of ice that begin to rain lethal shards across the battlefield. Keep dodging, and eventually, you'll notice a giant shard in the ice that Drax and Groot will automatically work on bringing down. Once they succeed, look for a prompt on Foom. If you hit it, you will stun him, allowing Drax to hurl the giant shard into Foom's chest, which instantly fills the stagger bar.

Now that Foom is exposed send everything you have at him. Deploy your team's heaviest-hitting attacks, and before he has the chance to pull free, follow up with Groot's Entangle ability, which will keep him down longer and give you a damage boost in the process.
Eventually, Foom will stand up and begin attacking you once again with an empty stagger bar. Keep on him and make full use of a Huddle if you're able (this will award status boosts and instant cooldowns for some of your Guardian's abilities).
Stay on the move and keep looking for Foom to repeat his Rain of Ice attack for more opportunities to instantly fill his stagger bar with Drax and the giant shards. Repeat this cycle to do the most damage on Foom, and you will have him taking a nap in no time.
