In the Fischfest Waterpark Update, the developers have added a new feature called the Roaming Fish. Indicative of its name, players can visually see the fish underwater and hunt specifically instead of throwing a rod & reeling in a random one. What are roaming fish in Fisch?
Firstly, you have to understand that roaming fish are not a new type of fish or a separate bestiary. Instead, they are a new way to represent the game's existing fish. Earlier, players used to swing their rods into the sea or any body of water and wait for a fish to take the bait. When it does, the mini-game will pop up, and players will reel in the fish.
Now, with the roaming fish update, players can see each fish underwater and try to catch them by approaching them and using a spear. This way, players can easily hunt for specific fish instead of wasting time waiting for that particular fish to bait the lure. Though the approach is different, the chance of finding an exotic or legendary fish is the same as reeling in one using a rod. You can always equip a Tidebreaker & Fish Radar to narrow down your search in the sea.
The Roaming Fish also adheres to the existing Bestiary system, which means a fish belonging to a particular island will only swim underneath those areas, and it is still required to travel to the respective islands to catch them.
How to spear hunt fish in Fisch
As the name suggests, to spear fish inside the game, players must get a Spear. To do this, they have to visit the Lost Jungle island at GPS coordinates (-2742, 160, -2075), where they can purchase basic spears such as the Flimsy, Mini, or Steady to start their journey.
Once you have the Spear, all you have to do is go near any fish underneath the water and poke them to start the spear fishing mini-game, which revolves around pressing both the LMB & RMB alternatively but rapidly. If you manage to do it correctly, you can successfully catch the fish; if not, it will disappear/despawn.
