What are Lagombi weaknesses, resistances, & drops | Monster Hunter Rise

One bad bunny.

Monster Hunter Rise has no shortage of foes for players to face. Each monster is a unique challenge for hunters to overcome that nets successful parties plenty of rewards to upgrade their gear. Only those who go into battle prepared for battle come out on top in Monster Hunter, though, so make sure to study up on the Fanged Beast, Lagombi, before meeting him in the field. Lagombi's weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates in Monster Hunter Rise are listed below.

All Lagombi Weaknesses

Lagombi Elemental Weakness

Lagombi's main weakness is fire, so use them if you have any weapons with this element. Thunder is a viable second option, though it doesn't hit as hard as fire. Do not use water, ice, or dragon weapons, as Lagombi is immune to these elements and will negate any damage of these attributes.

If you brought a fire weapon along for your hunt, aim your attacks at Lagombi's Head and Upper Half for the most damage. Those with thunder weapons should focus on Lagombi's Head as this is where they'll do the most damage.

Lagombi Location Weakness

If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.

Location DamageCutting DamageImpact DamageShot Damage
Head456350
Upper Half444440
Foreleg303020
Abdomen/Hind Leg353520
Rear635035
  • If using a cutting weapon focus on the rear
  • If using a blunt weapon focus on the head.
  • If using a bow/shot weapon focus on shooting the head.

Lagombi Resistances and Ailments

Lagombi isn't very resistant to ailments, and many of the game's options are viable against it. Poison, Paralysis, and Blast ailments are incredibly effective on this Fanged Beast. If you have Fireblight or Stun weapons, those deal adequate ailment damage. Lagombi isn't immune to any ailment, so Thunderblight, Sleep, Exhaust, Waterblight, and Iceblight can shake the monster while not incredibly impactful.

Lagombi Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking

Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.

  • There are multiple ways of gaining items
    • You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
    • You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
      • Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
    • From looting the drops from the monster
    • After successfully compleing your quest

Most of the monsters in Monster Hunter Rise have parts that hunters can shatter with enough damage, and Lagombi has a weak point of its own—the Head. Focusing attacks on the Head will allow you to break off Lagombi in battle. If you break pieces off of monsters during the hunt, you will earn extra rewards after completing the quest.

The tables below are the percentage and drop rates of each material from Lagombi, Low and High rank.
