Mizutsune Elemental Weakness

Mizutsune's main weaknesses are thunder and dragon weaponry. Make sure to use tools with these elements to deal the most damage. Fire and ice are helpful should you not have thunder or dragon options but do far less damage in comparison. Do not use water weapons on Mizutsune.

Make sure to focus your attacks on the Foreleg, Left Claw, and Right Claw when Using thunder, dragon, and ice weapons. Hitting Mizutsune here will deal the most damage. Aim for the Neck or Dorsal Fin if you have a fire weapon.

These attack types are certain to get the beast reeling with a stream of consistent attacks. Mizutsune isn't immune to any ailment types, though other ailments won't do much.

Mizutsune Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking

Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.

  • There are multiple ways of gaining items
    • You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
    • You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
      • Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
    • From looting the drops from the monster
    • After successfully compleing your quest

Most monsters have breakable parts, and Mizutsune is no different. The Head, Fin, Nails, and Tail can all break on this monster. If you break these pieces off during the hunt, you will earn extra rewards after completing the quest.
