All Characters in Halls of Torment – How to Unlock

There's no shortage of games inspired by Vampire Survivors, but lately, I've found myself compelled to play Halls of Torment. This bullet hell game features an aesthetic inspired by the original Diablo and has one of my favorite perks: the ability to aim attacks. It also features several characters, but you must unlock them before using them.

All Characters in Halls of Torment and How to Unlock Them

Currently, there are seven characters in Halls of Torment. Each is unlocked as you progress, but you must complete specific challenges to get them. Here's every Halls of Torment characters and how to unlock them.

Swordsman

The Swordsman is the default character and is unlocked at the start. All players will begin their game with this character until they unlock additional characters.

Archer

The Archer is unlocked by completing the achievement Caverns Survivor 1. This requires you to reach the 26-minute mark. This means you must stay alive for four minutes if you wish to unlock this character.

Exterminator

The Exterminator is unlocked once you defeat 1,000 enemies in a single run in the Ember Grounds. The Ember Grounds are unlocked by defeating the Imp Chieftan in the Haunted Caverns.

Cleric

The Cleric is unlocked by defeating the Lich boss in the Haunted Caverns. The Lich will spawn as you progress and will prove quite a challenge. Once you defeat this boss, you can officially play as the Cleric.

Shieldmaiden

The Shieldmaiden is unlocked by defeating the Warith Horseman in the Forgotten Viaduct. To unlock this stage, you must defeat the Wraith Warlord in the Ember Grounds.

Warlock

The Warlock is unlocked by defeating the Wyrm Queen boss in the Ember Grounds. This boss requires some skill to defeat, but it must be done if you wish to unlock the Warlock class.

Sorceress

The Sorceress is unlocked by defeating 10,000 enemies in the Forgotten Viaduct. This is extremely challenging and will require upgrades from the Shrine of Blessings.
