How to earn money/money glitch in Hogwarts Legacy

There is plenty of essential equipment you might need to purchase from Hogsmeade, such as potion ingredients, broom upgrades, a change of hairstyle, and other bits and bobs for your journey. Unfortunately, most of these will cost you some gold, but don't worry. We have a little trick that can help you gain some gold as quickly as possible so you can get all you need in no time.

How to earn money fast in Hogwarts Legacy

Although this isn't really a glitch per se, it is one of the simplest ways to earn money quickly. All you need is the Disillusionment spell and access to Hogsmeade. After completing the main quest to sneak into the Restricted Section of the library, you should have the spell you need. This spell is useful for sneaking past NPCs and opening the enchanted eye-chests. These chests carry the most money; thankfully, they are spread all around Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade. Since Hogsmeade is a little smaller than the castle, this is the easiest way to get all the money at one time, and it can earn you up to 6,000 gold if you find all the chests in the area.

The best way to go about it is to head to Hogsmeade and cast the Revelio spell as much as possible. This will outline all the chests nearby, even within buildings, and help you locate them faster. All yellow highlighted items that appear are lootable chests. You will also be able to see some chest icons on your compass.

Once you locate an eye-chest, cast your Disillusionment spell before walking into its line of sight. You won't be able to open it if the eye sees you, so it's important that you turn yourself invisible before approaching it. Once you're invisible, you can walk up and open the chest. Each chest will give you 500 gold, which is why finding them around Hogsmeade is the best method for earning some quickly.

Don't forget there are other ways you can earn money to help as well, such as selling equipment you no longer need. It's a good idea to sell your starting non-magical attire for some extra gold, and don't stop at Hogsmeade with those eye-chests. There are plenty around Hogwarts to find as well.
