How to transmog in Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, you can transmog and change the appearance of your clothing anytime you want. However, the cosmetic option isn't actually a spell that you need to cast. Here is how you can access the fashionable feature and transform how your wizard looks to your heart's content.

How to transmog and change clothing appearance in Hogwarts Legacy

To transmog in Hogwarts Legacy, go to the Gear menu and use the change appearance option while hovering your cursor over any clothing item. For PlayStation players, press the square button to access the change appearance feature. For Xbox and Steam Deck users, the transmog option is accessed by pressing the X button instead.

Once you have clicked the change appearance button, you will be taken to a collections menu that allows you to change how your clothes look. The transmog feature is nifty, as you can now equip your strongest armor while keeping the appearance of a more fashionable clothing item you have owned before. So if you hate how your Legendary dragon-eyed spectacles look, you can simply swap its appearance out.

By selecting the invisible option, you can even hide clothing items from appearing on your character altogether. However, you will need a collection of clothing items you have owned before to transmog. You can add additional appearance options to your transmog collection menu by unlocking special gear appearance rewards.

How to get more clothing transmog options in Hogwarts Legacy

To add more appearance options to your collection, you can unlock cosmetic gear reward items by completing quests and opening chests. The easiest way to expand your transmog collection is to complete the challenges listed in your field guide. Finding field guild pages hidden across the Hogwarts Legacy map will earn you many new gear appearance rewards, which can be accessed using the change appearance button in your Gear menu.
