All potions, their ingredients, and where to get them in Hogwarts Legacy

You can brew seven potions in Hogwarts Legacy, including the PS5 exclusive potion, Felix Felicis. To brew potions yourself, you'll need to have at least unlocked your first potions class or unlocked the Room of Requirement to brew them in your own space. Here is how to obtain them.

Wiggenweld Potion

This potion recipe will be taught to you during your first Potions Class. It's a generic healing potion. It requires one Horklump Juice and one Dittany Leaves to brew. Brewing takes 15 seconds. Horklump Juice can be collected from purple mushrooms in the wild, or you can purchase it from J. Pippin's Potions for 50 Galleons a piece. You can grow Dittany Leaves yourself after attending your first Herbology Class or purchase them for 100 Galleons from the Magic Neep. If you don't want to brew them, Wiggenweld potions can also be purchased directly from J. Pippin's Potions for 100 Galleons.

Edurus Potion

This potion recipe will also be taught to you during your first Potions Class. It's a potion that will increase your defense for a limited time. It requires one Ashwinder Egg and one Mongrel Fur to brew. Brewing takes 30 seconds. Ashwinder Eggs can be found in the wild, particularly around mountainous areas. You'll see them glow red. You can also purchase them from J. Pippin's Potions for 150 Galleons a piece. You can gather Mongrel fur by defeating Mongrel enemies or purchase them for 50 Galleons from J. Pippin's Potions. If you don't want to brew it, an Edurus potion can also be purchased directly from J. Pippin's Potions for 300 Galleons.

Felix Felicis

This is the PS5 exclusive potion. You will have the recipe automatically as long as you have this version. Drinking Felix Felicis will reveal large loot chests on the Mini-map for one in-game day. It requires one Lacewing Flies, one Fluxweed Stem, and one minute to brew. Lacewing flies can be gathered from green butterflies that swarm bushes or purchased from J. Pippin's Potions for 100 Galleons a piece. Fluxweed Stem can be grown or purchased from the Magic Neep for 150 Galleons. This potion must be brewed and can not be purchased elsewhere.

Maxima Potion

To brew this potion you'll need to purchase the recipe from J. Pippen's first. This potion will increase your spell damage for a short amount of time. It requires one Leech Juice and one Spider Fang to brew. It takes 30 seconds to finish cooking. Leech Juice can be gathered in the wild from leeches, usually found on river beds. Spider Fangs can be gathered by defeating spider enemies. These ingredients can also be purchased from J. Pippen for 150 Galleons and 50 Galleons, respectively. The potion can also be purchased directly for 300 Galleons.

Focus Potion

You'll first need to purchase this potion recipe from J. Pippin's Potions. It's a potion that reduces your spell cooldowns. It requires one Lacewing Flies, one Fluxweed Stem, one Dugbog Tongue, and one minute to brew. Lacewing flies can be gathered from green butterflies that swarm bushes or purchased from J. Pippin's Potions for 100 Galleons a piece. Fluxweed Stem can be grown or purchased from the Magic Neep for 150 Galleons. Dugbog tongues can be gathered from defeated Dugbogs or purchased from J. Pippen for 100 Galleons a piece. Focus potions can also be purchased directly from J. Pippen for 500 Galleons a piece.

Invisibility Potion

This potion recipe will need to be purchased from J. Pippen's Potions. If you don't feel like using the Disillusionment charm, you can use this potion to turn invisible for a limited time. We're not quite sure why you would when you have the spell readily available. To brew it, you'll need one Leaping Toadstool Caps, One Knotgrass Sprig, and One Troll Bogeys. It takes one minute to brew. Toadstool Caps can be gathered from red mushrooms growing in the wild. Troll Bogeys can be collected after defeating Trolls. These ingredients can also be purchased from J. Pippen's for 150 and 100 Galleons. Knotgrass can be grown in your Room of Requirement after purchasing the seeds from the Magic Neep. You can also purchase Knotgrass there for 150 Galleons. If you don't want to go through the work of brewing it, you can purchase an Invisibility potion from J. Pippen for 500 Galleons a piece.

Thunderbrew Potion

This is the most difficult potion to brew. You'll need to purchase the recipe from J. Pippen's Potions, first. When uncorked, it will cause a thunderstorm to gather around you, passively attacking your enemies. It can be purchased from J. Pippen directly for 1,000 Galleons a piece or brewed by combining one Leech Juice, one Shrivelfig Fruit, and one Stench of the Dead. It takes 90 seconds to brew. Leech Juice is gathered from leeches in the wild or purchased for 150 Galleons from J. Pippen. Shrivelfig Fruit can be grown in a planter or purchased from the Magic Neep for 150 Galleons a piece. Lastly, the Stench of the Dead is collected by defeating Inferi enemies. You could also purchase this ingredient from J. Pippen for 100 Galleons.
