Is the Elder Wand in Hogwarts Legacy?

A wand that's not to be toyed with.

The Elder Wand is the most powerful wand in the Harry Potter series and has the potential to appear in Hogwarts Legacy. It has been known to switch casters over time, and while we generally know who controls it during most of its history, there is some time that is unclear—minor spoilers below for Harry Potter lore.

The Elder Wand's wizard was unknown during the game's time period, as seen on a Reddit thread and below. It is difficult to imagine that the developers would not take advantage of this opening to add one of the most important items in the Harry Potter series.

The Elder Wand's Masters:

  • Harry Potter - 1998 to TBD
  • Lord Voldemort - 1998
  • Draco Malfoy - 1997 to 1998
  • Albus Dumbledore - 1945 to 1997
  • Gellert Grindelwald - 1926 to 1945
  • Mykew Gregorovitch - 1909 to 1926
  • Arcus or Livuis - Unknown time period
  • Loxias - Early to mid 18th century
  • Barnabas Deverill - Early 18th century

As seen in the Harry Potter movies, the Elder Wand can switch masters at will, changing from Voldemort to Harry Potter. As a result, there is a chance that it will appear in the game and that the player character may get to use it.

Although this is all speculation at the moment, the Elder Wand will likely appear in the game since it does not have a known master during this time period.
