Which ending will you choose?

In Hogwarts Legacy, you have to face Ranrok in the Final Repository main quest. However, before this, you'll be provided with a choice to open or keep the Repository as it is. Professor Fig will ask you about the Repository just before the final fight, and you need to know which path to take to get the desired ending. Which answer to choose for Professor Fig in the Final Repository in Hogwarts Legacy?

Before starting the Final Repository quest, we highly recommend players create a couple of manual saves. This way, you can make different decisions to get all the endings in the game. In the final quest to save Hogwarts, you'll be facing Ranrok Dragon after the goblin takes control of the Ancient Magic in the Repository.

Before the fight with Ranrok begins, Professor Fig will ask you a question about the Repository, and your choice here will decide which ending you get. He asks what you intend to do with the Repository, and you'll have the following dialogues to choose from.

  • I intend to keep it contained here.
  • I intend to open it.

Choosing to keep the Repository contained doesn't change much in the grand scheme of the narrative, but it gives a cutscene with a proper farewell for Professor Fig. Unfortunately, this beloved character will perish regardless of the choice you make, but you'll get to see different cutscenes for each choice.

If you keep the Repository contained, Professor Fig shows up after your fight with Ranrok and dies from his injuries later. If you open the Repository, you won't get to see Professor Fig after the final fight, instead you'll see a dark version of your character controlling the Reservoir's ancient magic.

How to get the good ending in Hogwarts Legacy

To get the good ending in Hogwarts Legacy, we recommend choosing the "I intend to keep it contained here" dialogue option when asked about the Reservoir.

In this choice, you will meet Professor Fig one last time after the final fight with Ranrok Dragon, and you'll get to give him Miriam's wand. This ending follows up with your character restoring the Reservoir and keeping the Ancient Magic hidden from the world.

How to get the dark ending in Hogwarts Legacy

To get the dark ending in Hogwarts Legacy, you need to choose the option to open the Reservoir and claim the power for yourself, as any true Slytherin would. When Professor Fig asks you about your choice, select the dialogue "I want the power for myself," or "This power should not be kept from the world." Keep in mind, with this choice, you won't get to see Professor Fig at the end of the fight with Ranrok Dragon.

Instead, a different cutscene ensues where you repair the Reservoir and breathe in the ancient magic, just as Isidora did. Your character's eyes turn red in this cutscene, giving a perfect feel for the dark wizard storyline. Regardless of which option you choose, both endings show the cutscene where Professor Black and Weasley are raising a toast to Professor Fig after his demise. Following this, the school year ends, and you start preparing for the OWLs.
