Many of the faces you'll see in Hogwarts Legacy will be new to you, even if you are a long-time Harry Potter fan. That's because the story takes place about one hundred years before the time of the titular book series. While the story will generally align with the history of Hogwarts as we know it from the books, some characters have been created specifically for this game. One of those characters is George Osric. Here's what you need to know about him.
George Osric, Ministry of Magic official in Hogwarts Legacy
George Osric is a high ranking Ministry of Magic official with ties to Hogwarts, particularly Professor Fig and his wife, Miriam. Miriam had discovered a perplexing puzzle just before she passed away, and had enlisted George's help in solving it. He has an affinity for riddles, but he still requires more help to solve these ones. George will reach out to you for help. He has not appeared in any prior Harry Potter works.

As he is a member of the Ministy of Magic, George may tie into your adventures at Hogwarts in other ways. We know that The Wizard's Field Guide will help direct you as you explore the school and its grounds. We also know that it was given to you specifically from the Ministry of Magic, to help you catch up with other students. This is because you are entering Hogwarts as a fifth-year rather than a first-year. It's possible that you will receive your guide from this character.
